Harlyn Bay has a delightful sandy beach. The sea is ideal for bathing, swimming, surfing, wind-surfing etc. Harlyn also benefits from its own surfing school. There are many other beaches nearby too.

 

Close by are the villages of St Merryn and Constantine. The area is renowned for its seven spectacular bays and surfing beaches.  There are many shops including newsagent, post office, groceries, bakery, deli, petrol station, pubs, takeaways and restaurants. 

 

Trevose Golf Club overlooks the sea and is about ½ mile from Hesselwood. Having two 9 hole and one 18 hole courses, as well as a swimming pool, tennis courts, table tennis, restaurant, bar etc. it is very popular and it is possible to join as a temporary member.

Padstow is approx. 3 miles away with its towering cliffs, wide sandy beaches, hidden coves and beautiful countryside.   At its heart is a charming harbour which opens on to the Camel Estuary. Along the crooked streets nestle quaint buildings, cosy quayside inns, acclaimed eateries including Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant and a range of individual shops. From art galleries to ice cream, designer clothes to Cornish pasties - there is something for everyone.
